Copyright Registration

A Copyright protects the original expression of ideas in literary, artistic, musical, and dramatic works, as well as computer software, films, and sound recordings. In Pakistan, copyrights are registered under the Copyright Ordinance, 1962 with the Intellectual Property Organization of Pakistan (IPO-Pakistan). Registration provides proof of ownership, helps prevent unauthorized reproduction, and grants exclusive rights to the creator.

Requirements:
✓ Two copies of the work
✓ Demand Draft / Pay Order of fee (as applicable per work)
✓ CNIC of the Copyright Holder / Partners
✓ NOC from publisher if the work has been published and publisher is different from the applicant
✓ Search certificate from Trademark Office if the work is capable of being used on goods
✓ Residential address of holder or Letterhead of the business
✓ Power of Attorney
✓ Any other information or documents as required by IPO

Completion Time: 6 – 12 Months (subject to examination and approval by IPO-Pakistan)
